I’ve been checking out a lot of awesome new music on SoundCloud lately. I decided to create an account and upload some of the tracks I’ve made over the last few months. So I’m going to plug my account now. Check out some of my tracks!

Happy new year everyone! I hope your NYE was as awesome as mine was. 2010 is here and I think its going to be a big year for dance music. A lot of great tracks have already come out and a lot more are on the way from some big names. Speaking of upcoming tunes, Wolfgang Gartner has got some new madness up on his MySpace player. It has been released yet, but I recommend everyone go check out WG on MySpace and listen to the first tune in his player, “Unititled”. Such a dirty beat, I think you’ll really enjoy it.

I’ve been listening to Christian Smith on and off for the last year or so. The man really knows how to lay down those fat techno beats, though sometimes they’re a little bit too funky for my taste. “Indecent Exposure” came out last month on techno label Tronic and I’ve really grown to enjoy the groove behind this release. Very subtle changes in the lead synth and a breakdown that makes you want to throw your hands in the air are what make this release. There are two versions included, the original mix and the deep bass mix which has a little bit extra disco in the bassline. I recommend listening to this in the car, its perfect for driving.

I hope everyone got what they wanted from Santa Clause this year! And now that Christmas is behind us we can look forward to celebrating the new year. Speaking of Christmas, Ive got some late gifts for everyone today. Dilemn has released a new remix of “Insanely” by Gooseflesh. In typical Dilemn fashion, this track is a monster. As a bonus, Ive got two of Dilemn’s older breakbeat tracks that I think you will enjoy. There isnt much else to say, Ill let the music do the rest of the talking!

I’ve seen Crookers in concert twice and every time they absolutely destroy the venue. Their sound is in a category of its own. A mix of electro, hard house, hip-hop, rock, metal and everything in between. And they always keep the energy up. A lot of DJs like to play out entire tracks and that’s great too but the Crookers are constantly mixing it up (no pun intended) dropping different cuts and samples. I highly recommend checking them out if they are playing near you. Hell, even if they arent, make the trip to see them. It will be totally worth it.
Today I’ve got an episode of the Radio 538: Dance Department podcast from November 18th. The first half is the Dance Department radio show hosted by Dennis Ruyer, and its pretty decent. There are some good tunes in the first half that Dennis plays. But the real business is the second half, a mix set by the Crookers themselves. And if you’ve never listened to Crookers before, this should give you an idea of what they’re all about. Enjoy.

I stumbled upon an electro house duo by the name of Valerna last month. Admittedly, I am not a big fan of their original productions. Their remixes are a totally different story, however. Their Busta Rhymes remix is a mix of a freight-train lead, background noise, and a kick that punches through the wall. The ”Narcotics’ remix is non-stop energy with a vocal cut over the top to provide something to scream about. I have also included one of their original productions ‘Wait a Minute’ so you can decide for yourself.

This track by the Swedish House Mafia (Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angelo, Axwell) along with Laidback Luke released this track in early 2009. It was instantly dubbed as the “House Track of the Year.” The vocal sample embodies everything that the culture represents while the production is absolutely on-point with what house music should sound like. Certainly not a new track, but I stumbled across the video again this weekend while putting together a DVD of music videos for a limo ride and, well, thought I would post it for those of you who havn’t seen it. I first got turned onto Jack Beats when I was at a Crookers concert a few months ago. They dropped ‘UFO (K-Hole Riddim)’ and it blew my mind. Ever since them I am always on the lookout for new stuff from the Jack Beats duo. Im here today with a new one I discovered from them a few days ago. This is Passion Pit – Little Secrets (Jack Beats Remix). Also, you can expect a new mix from John Blaze later in the week. Check back soon for more electronic music goodness!

French electro artist Dilemn has been kicking out the jams on my iPod lately. I first discovered Dilemn through my partner in crime John Blaze who showed me his track Pitiless. I was blown away by the precision production skills that I was hearing while at the same time getting my face melted by how dirty the track was. Recently, Dilemn was on remix duty for the new Shadow Dancer track “Cowbois” and, as usual, delivered the goods. His most recent EP “The Dreamer” featuring the B-side “Flying Guitar” was released on the Future Perfect label earlier this year.
If you are looking for some tunes to really knock you off of you chair and show you what the French house scene is all about, check out Dilemn online at MySpace.
